Hydrogen Peroxide for Health?

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

In my search for alternative treatments for diabetes, I’ve come across some interesting information on hydrogen peroxide as a “cure” for many diseases. Now, I’m talking about food grade hydrogen peroxide 35%, not the 3% in the brown bottle we all get at the local drugstore. There is more research to be done on my part, but it’s an intriguing idea. I’d love to know if anyone has firsthand knowledge of the usages of peroxide. Any testimonials?

Long Gone

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I appreciate all the comments that have been sent my way. Yes, I’ve been gone long but I’m not long gone!. Without going into all the details, my life has been upsidedown with caring for my mother. She is 86 and has dementia. We’ve been getting our ducks in a row and I’m hoping to get back on track with my own issues. This blog is an important way for me to reach out… thanks for your support.

What’s Nutrition all About?

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Just what IS nutrition all about? I’ve read so much about the good foods…I KNOW that vegetables are the best thing for me. I KNOW that limited fruits (I’m diabetic) can be just fine. I KNOW that whole grains are what I should eat… if I eat them. But what I am discovering is that THE MIND has a whole lot to do with the health of the body.
If I don’t believe that what I eat is important, if I don’t believe that exercise is important, then what I truly need is nutrition for my mind. My THOUGHTS are what I believe. My THOUGHTS areĀ  guiding me to good nutrition for both the mind and the body. Most important, my thoughts acknowledge that I am blessed.

Have a blessed night.

Exercise Excuses

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Exercise is becoming a demon to me. I fully realize how much it helps to steady the blood sugar. But do you think I can keep myself on a regular schedule? NO! Almost anything can cause me to lose sight of getting on that treadmill. I find any excuse and am not proud of it.

Something has got to change. Any suggestions out there?

Life Feeling Good

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Simple things like waking up hungry, testing blood sugar around 90, and having a good day of activity and good feelings, they all contribute to a great life…for me. You see, I remember the past but don’t dwell on it. I plan for the future but don’t count on it. Today is wonderful and it’s where I live. Join me today!

A Learning Day

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I am currently attending an internet marketing seminar. What does that have to do with this blog? I hope to help others trying to gain control over diabetes and gain optimum health.

It’s been a great few days and I’m learning a lot. Keep reading and watch for changes . Let me know what you would like to see or hear about and I’ll do my best to write about each suggestion.

Diabetes Education

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

One of the “requirements” from the doctor when diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, is to attend a diabetes education class. Two options were given to me and I checked into both.

Due to family vacation time, one was out of the question. The other, had to be rescheduled. Upon the rescheduling, I was advised that my insurance did not approve the coverage for this expense. I was told that for $348 paid out of pocket, I was registered for the 2 day class. I actually thought about it for a couple days, then called back and cancelled. Sorry, but I feel the same way about this class as I do about being told what drug I WILL take. I am not just another diabetic. I continue to research my health (or lack thereof), and take full responsibility for my own care. My doctor of 8 years, soon to be former doctor, talks “down ” to me, and that is not appreciated. Hopefully, I will find a doctor not so harried and condescending, but who explains options and accepts my questions. Yes, it took me a few years to learn, but as long as I was in good health, who knew???

Online Plans

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

I’m excited about doing more online with health and fitness since my diabetic onset. So many sites are out there with information, but I think I can find some way to reach a person with just what they need to make a difference. You’ll be hearing more about things as I get my plan together. Wish me luck!

Scales don’t budge

Monday, May 12th, 2008

I am still struggling with weight loss. Certainly not because I’m eating too much! But I’m not going hungry and my blood sugar is well under control. I believe the insulin does prevent weight loss, perhaps, even encourages weight gain. I must admit, it’s discouraging as I know getting rid of extra pounds would aid in my goal to reduce the insulin. For now, I must continue adjusting the meals and exercise and want to begin meditation.

I am an admirer of Dr. Wayne Dyer and have several of his audio programs for personal development. He offers guidance on meditation that I’ll have to check out.

Checking Out Wordpress

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

I am relatively new to Wordpress. Most everyone I know is a Blogger.com. Who doesn’t know Google??? But I am getting familiar with Wordpress (not enough) and the plugins that are available to use that are phenomenal! Yes, I am a newbie to most everything internet with the exception of email and searches. There is so much to learn. And it is so exciting!

Would you believe I am actually thankful that I have been diagnosed with diabetes? I am. Because now, I have to do something about it. No more slacking off, no more ignoring my health. With the power of Wordpress and the sentiments from my heart, there must be thousands of other people just like me that I can reach. Now it is up to me.
